You might already have read about the new name of Android market. Google Play is now replacing the name as well as the existence of Android Market from Today. Google Play is supposed to be the single platform offering the capabilities of Google Android market, Ebookstore and Music. At Google Play, user will get multiple experiences on the single platform. So let us quickly head on to the facts you should know about Google Play:
1. Here is the scoop
In principle Google Music, eBookStore and Android market has been combined to form Google Play, where user will not only be able to purchase music, movies, ebooks and apps but also the items stored in the cloud. Which means you will be able to do same thing on your Android smart phone and or your tablet using Google Play apps. Two destination, smart phones and web will be synchronized, which means you can even enjoy the content that you downloaded on your smart phone over tablet and also on the desktop.
2. One stop shop
Play Store is already live at play.google.com and it is a one stop shop for your entire mobile and tablet needs. Google is also redirecting users coming to Android market to Google Play. In coming few days you will see following changes.
• The Android Market = “Play Store.”
• Google Music = “Play Music.”
• Google Movies = “Play Movies.”
• eBookstore = “Play Books.”
3. Can I upload my own movies and music?
Google Music which was allowing users to store up to 20K songs will remain same, the only thing which as changed is the name. The music files which you purchased and uploaded on Google Music will still be there you can continue accessing and uploading your games on Music.google.com or on the rebranded Play Music.
For movies, the story is different and user won’t be allowed to upload their own movies for access in the cloud. Play Movies will solely be providing rental movie service.
4. Will non-Android users will have access Google Play.
Let’s be clearer here. Although Play is already crowed with Android users but Google will allow Google users to access the service and to take advantage of cloud based content management. Which means you can rent movies, can purchase music and buy books on one computer and then can access on any other also.
5. Will Google play will kill my Internet data plan?
NO, probably not. No matter even all your content is stored in the cloud; you will be enabled to access it for offline playback. Which means books, music and rented movies can be accessed.
